Prof. Garg visited GRC, KirtiNagar

Prof. B. S. Garg, President, Indian Adult Education Association visited GRC, Kirti Nagar on January 28, 2012. He was accompanied by 
Dr. M.S. Ranawat, Vice President, Shri K.C. Choudhary, General Secretary, 
Dr.V. Mohankumar, Director, 
Smt. Kalpana Kaushik, Assistant Director 
Shri S.C. Dua, Senior Consultant. 
Shri Taushif Ahmad, Project Coordinator received the President, introduced the members of the staff and briefed about the on-going activities. Thereafter, Prof. Garg individually discussed with the staff members about their work and appreciated. He also desired them to keep the quality of work in mind while working with the community. Prof. Garg then visited Basti Vikas Kendra located in the middle of the community as a portion of the building is to be allotted to GRC-SK. He has directed Smt. Kalpana and Shri Taushif to take necessary action for maintenance and repair of the portion to be allotted before shifting GRC to that place.

जीआरसी कीर्तिनगर ने निकाली महिला रैली

गत 16 मई 2013 को भारतीय प्रौढ़ षिक्षा संघ, नई दिल्ली के महासचिव तथा स्त्री षक्ति सुविधा केन्द्र, कीर्ति नगर के मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (चीफ फंक्षनरी) श्री कैलाष चैधरी ने स्त्री षक्ति सुविधा केन्द्र का दौरा किया। इस दौरान श्री चैधरी ने जीआरसी के सभी 9 कार्यकर्ताओं से सामूहिक रूप से बातचीत कर वर्तमान में संचालित किये जा रहे विविध कार्यक्रमों की समीक्षा की और उनकी प्रगति का जायजा लिया। श्री चैधरी ने स्पष्ट किया कि स्थानीय समुदाय के जीवन स्तर को उतरोत्तर ऊँचा उठाने में जीआरसी की महत्वपूर्ण भूमिका है। कार्यकर्ता आने वाले दिनों में आयोजित किये जाने वाले कार्यक्रमों की गुणवत्ता को लगातार बढ़ाकर इस भूमिका का बेहतर निर्वहन कर सकते हैं। श्री चैधरी ने इसके लिए कार्यकर्ताओं की निजी कार्यकुषलता और नियमित गतिविधियों में आपसी समन्वय तथा तालमेल पर बल दिया। चर्चा में भारतीय प्रौढ़ षिक्षा संघ की सहायक निदेषक श्रीमती कल्पना कौषिक भी षामिल हुईं।


The GRC-SK of IAEA is located at Kirti Nagar in Delhi North District to cover the slum clusters of Furniture Block, Chuna Bhatti, Jawahar Camp, Sanjay Camp, Mansarover Garden and Ramesh Nagar to serve for about 20,000 people. The Chief functionary of the project is Shri K.C. Choudhary, General Secretary, IAEA and the team of other functionaries include Project Coordinator, Programme Officer, two Community Mobilizers, SHG Mobilizer, Instructor for Non-formal Education and two Vocational Instructors.

The key focus area for GRC-SK is holistic community development with - social empowerment of women through counseling, camps and awareness generation, employability through vocational training and skills development, economic 13 Annual Report 2012 and social empowerment through promotion and strengthening of Self-Help Groups and Micro Credit and Micro Finance Access, health awareness and health services, nutrition awareness, functional literacy through non-formal education, legal awareness, counselling and aid, rights awareness and political empowerment, advocacy, dissemination of information about facilities, services and resources available at GRC-SK and facilitating access to welfare entitlements and development programmes of the government which are meant for weaker sections.

The first task given to GRC-SK of IAEA is to do door-to-door survey under Annashree Yojana to identify from the existing data available with the government the APL families, particularly vulnerable and most vulnerable categories, which are not getting subsidized ration to transfer Rs.600/- per month/per household through electronic transfer in the account of women who head the families. Identification has been done based on Aadhaar, Voter ID Cards and Ration Card. So far 218 Bank Accounts have been opened in Oriental Bank of Commerce and State Bank of India.

A Nutrition Camp was organized on November 20, 2012 at Sant Nirankari Satsang Sthal of Kirti Nagar Chuna Bhatti in which 35 women and 30 children have participated. Smt. Sunita Rani, Nutritionist not only spoke on nutritious and delicious food suitable for lactating mothers but also helped the participants to prepare 'Kheer' which at the end everyone tasted and appreciated.
The camp was organized by Ms. Komal, Programme Officer and Ms. Indu, Instructor, Non-formal Education with the active support of Shri Jai Bhagwan and Shri Vinod Pathak of IAEA. The Kirti Nagar GRC-SK was visited by Shri K.C. Choudhary, General Secretary, IAEA and Chief Functionary of the project on November 23, 2012. During his visit he not only reviewed the programmes undertaken but also discussed with the project functionaries for quality and content improvement and increasing the pace of work.
